Summer Game Fest was a major endeavour taken alongside GAMINGbible journalist Sam Cawley. I picked the games to go hands-on with that I expected would perform strongly on socials in video form, while backing up editorial. One of our biggest moments was interviewing Casper Van Dien recreating his iconic quote from Starship Troopers off the back of a long interview with the developers.

During filmed developer interviews I worked with Sam to come up with questions that will receive a strong response online, like asking about the “sexy robot” in Star Wars Outlaws.

Thanks to the beautiful weather in Los Angeles during the event we were able to shoot our talking head gameplay reaction/previews outside on the SGF campus. These were shared across socials in different formats. On Instagram we took the approach to post the videos in carousel form rather than reels (see below).

I’m proud of how these turned out, adding a layer of two pals talking about games while also being informative and offering new insights into the new games that the audience won’t be aware of.
