Coming directly off the back of the Pokémon World Championships in Hawaii, Gamescom 2024 was a challenge in many ways - most of all the jetlag. I worked alongside a GAMINGbible editorial journalist to tackle back to back appointments going hands-on opportunities with upcoming games and sitting in presentations.

We chose three different games to focus on for video in the form of a sit down chat with GAMINGbible journalist Kate Harrold and myself. We were limited in terms of equipment and space, so I liaised with a PR to allow us to shoot our segments in an empty room in their space. This wasn’t an ideal set up due to noise from the show floor and limited light.

Fortunately, this was all worth it as our Atomfall video gained over 1.3 million views on Facebook, proving that even when the quality of the footage isn’t ideal, the right approach in editing, hook and conversation can still lead to successful video performance.
